It is Friday morning and devotees are not allowed inside temples as per the current lockdown restrictions.
But the regulars at Sri Vedantha Desikar Srinivasa Perumal temple are up early and gather in good numbers at the entrance.
The third morning of the annual Vedantha Desikar Utsavam in Puratasi is the time for Srinivasa Perumal to provide Garuda Sevai Darshan.
The devotees eagerly wait for the clock to tick past 7am for Vedantha Desikar in golden kedayam and Srinivasa Perumal in garuda vahana to start on a procession inside the temple providing a joint darshan.
The Prabhandham members too are here in good numbers and they present the third Canto of Iyarpa verses as the Lord and Acharya go around the temple complex thrice. Vedic Recital too is part of the procession.
For the devotees, it is not the ideal way for a darshan but the smiling faces indicated that they were happy to have had a glimpse of Srinivasa Perumal on the garuda vahana at least from outside.
