A team led by the state Idols Wing Police arranged for a search to be made in the tank of Sri Kapali Temple on Monday – an attempt to locate the ‘missing’ peacock idol of Sri Kapali Temple.
The police were following up on a Madras High Court direction that all efforts be made to follow any leads in this case.
It appears that nothing of note was located in Monday’s probe.
In this long-drawn legal case, officials had submitted that one person who was questioned in the case had suggested that the idol could have been dumped into the tank.
