The DMK has chosen to retain Thamizhachi Thangapandian as its candidate for Chennai South in the elections to the Lok Sabha to be held now. ( she is seen in a blue salwar-kameez in the first photo)
Her name figures in the list of candidates of the DMK that was released this morning at the party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam.
Thamizhachi alias Sujatha had won the seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections beating the AIADMK’s Dr J Jayavardan by over 2.62 lakh votes.
The AIADMK has announced that Dr J Jayavardan as its candidate here. He is a resident of Leith Castle zone. ( seen in photo below, centre)
The buzz is that Tamizhisai Soundararajan, who resigned as governor of Telangana days ago and is getting back to electoral politics, is tipped to be the BJP’s candidate in Chennai South.
