Chennai Metro; finally, one section of Jammi Bldgs flyover brought down for rail work

The flyover that connects Royapettah and Mylapore over Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai is now a half-saved block that seems to hang in the air on the Mylapore side.

All the spans of this flyover on the Ajantha side were removed to enable work on Chennai Metro. The last of this work was completed last weekend.

It was a challenging job, site engineers said.

This flyover was opened nearly 20 yearsago by the late chief minister M. Karunanidhi.

  1. No idea why they need demolish a flyover which is built 26 years ago they can still build the metro work over that so the flyover can be used once the work is done , technology is so much developed in this country but used in parts only.

    1. Where is the space. Flyover built at Adyar, Anna University, and many such flyover occupy unnecessary space and all of them don’t comply with safety standards
