These meters monitor flooding condition on P. S. Sivaswamy Salai

State agencies have installed flood recording and monitoring meters on P. S. Sivaswamy Salai in Mylapore. These meters record the level of floodwater in this road and transmit the data to the control room of the agency, which will help it to initiate measures to address serious flooding.

‘The meters are seen alongside the pavement off Vivekananda College on one end of this road and opposite Chaitra restaurant where this road links with Royapettah High Road.

This road / zone is one of the places which floods during a steady and long spell of rain. New drains laid here which channel the water into the Buckingham Canal on the eastern side of the area have prevented flooding in recent times.
