Inner Wheel Club Chennai MRC Nagar club honoured 30 yoing silambam sportspeople from Tamil Nadu who made a mark at an international silambam championship held in Malaysia recently.
Competing alongside 350 participants from different countries, these young people won a total of 30 medals.
Many youths in this team hail from underprivileged backgrounds and study in various schools across Chennai.
The Club presented the 30 players with shields and certificates, said Kavitha Thiagarajan
president of this Inner Wheel Club.
