Book on famous Mylapore lawyer, Pichai to be released

A book on one of Mylapore’s famous lawyers, S. Pichai is to be released next week in the city.

Titled ‘Memoirs of a Mylapore Lawyer’ and written by writer-historian Randor Guy, the book will be launched on March 28 evening at a private hotel in Egmore.

Gracing this event is Justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla of the Supreme Court and Justice P R Gokulakrishnan, former chief justice of the Madras and the Gujarat High Courts.

Other guests include senior advocate B Sriramulu, Justice V Ratnam, auditor G Narayanaswamy, and Congress MP and senior advocate B S Gnanadesikan.

Pichai, a resident of Dr. Ranga Road made a name for himself at the High Court and Supreme Court, handling both civil and criminal cases from the 50s to the 80s.

Says Randur Guy, “He handled a number of fascinating cases including the insolvency case of actress Vennira Adai Nirmala.”

  1. what an inspirational book on a lawyer whose life was strewn with thorns but the man had overcome all the obstacles to conquer the pinnacle of the legal profession. Such inspiring stories are few and the lawyers of today would do well to read this treatise written by the great author Randor Guy
