Festivals now seem to encourage communities even in metro neighborhoods to celebrate them traditionally. On the eve of the harvest festival of Pongal, campuses hosted celebrations, some small some big. At the sprawling and verdant campus of the C P R Foundation on Eldams Road, Alwarpet the staff got together to host the ritual and then shared the pongal with colleagues and guests.
At Bamboola playschool, children were asked to be dressed traditionally. M Ct M School organized a simple event for its students at its Luz Church Road campus.
