Though steady rain came down at the time pradosham on September 4, Saturday at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore the rituals were not affected.
But the procession was limited to rounds in the Navaratri mantapam since the rainfall was steady in the open.
And since places of worship and prayer are out of bounds to people on weekends due to pandemic time rules, the temple campus was close to empty.
The LED screen in the mantapam also did not come alive; anyway there was no need for the telecast.
