High Court directs temple built on public space in Marina kuppam to be cleared

The Madras High Court has asked state authorities to ensure that a temple built on a path-way into colonies of Nochi kuppam off the Marina to be cleared, saying it has been built on public space.

The judges said they would give two months for the order to be executed on the ground.

This temple is dedicated to the Amman and lavishly built on what is said to be a pathway to the area between Blocks 12 and 13 of the redeveloped apartment blocks off Marina Loop Riad.

The petitioner, a resident said the temple blocked the pathway and was an encroachment.
